What stands it apart from other waxes?
This is in contrast paraffin wax which is a byproduct of petroleum refinement obtained through crude oil distillation. This wax is usually heavily refined, safe to use in candles and is usually found in many brands on the high street including cosmetics. However, paraffin wax burns much hotter with a larger flame and therefore consumes much more wax and is prone to sooting on the vessel.
